Starting in the 2021-2022 school year, VA implemented a new requirement for Post-9/11 GI Bill® students to verify their training/enrollment every month. Students who receive the Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) and/or "GI Bill Kicker" payments are required to verify their enrollment each month to continue receiving payments. This requirement is only for Post-9/11 GI Bill® students.
When your enrollment is being processed by the VA, you should receive a text message from the VA to opt into text message verification. To avoid having your MHA payments withheld, please complete the required steps. You will need to select "YES" to opt in for text message verification. If you select "NO" or can't receive text messages, you will be automatically enrolled in e-mail verification.
